Title: Modern Tools for Parallel Debugging in HPC

Abstract: Modern user-friendly debuggers with a wide range of functionalities have become increasingly available on supercomputers and mesocenter clusters. Following a brief introduction to the fundamental principles and methodologies of parallel debugging, we will delve into the HPC debugging tool, DDT. Through an interactive example using a hybrid MPI/OpenMP 2D hydro code, we will explore the key features of DDT. By the end of this talk, participants will gain hands-on knowledge on how to efficiently debug their parallel applications using DDT, moving beyond traditional printf-based debugging methods.
